Kindergarten Thanksgiving Program

The Kindergarten classes put on a Thanksgiving program on Thursday evening. The kids were dressed as pilgrims or Indians. The kids sang, danced and recited poems for the audience. They did a great job!!

Haunted House?

We enjoyed a great play date at the Drew's yesterday making spooky lights. This is the only kind of haunted house that I'd want to live in!!

Fall Harvest Festival

The kids and I went to Callaway's this past Saturday for their annual Fall Harvest Festival. The kids were able to decorate pumpkins, listen to story time and plant flowers, grass and lettuce. We had a great time!!

Beautiful Bulldog

Alaina has begged to do what Zach does... play T-ball.  Lainey plays for the Bulldogs and is absolutely adorable on the field!!

The first practice and game DID NOT GO WELL...

but then Daddy, The Lainey Whisperer, showed up and she's been all smiles since!!

Collarbone Calamity

A parent's words could never ring more true... "it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt." Unfortunately, Zach was the someone to get hurt.

Zach was wrestling with a friend last night and ended up with a broken collarbone.

He has been a great trooper today, in high spirits and refusing naps (despite the codeine!!). We hope that the next 6 weeks pass quickly and easily!!

Best Buddies

Smart Little Cookie

Lainey received her first Happy Gram! from Mrs. Kathy in Preschool 2 today.  Our smart, little cookie!!

"We are very happy to have Alaina in Preschool 2.  She loves the math center.  She can recognize one to five objects in a set without counting.  She can also recognize written numerals 1-5."

I Got It!!

Zach needed a gentle wake-up call this morning for school.  I haven't needed to wake him up every morning for school, but when I do I sing, "Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory..."

This morning, I started singing and gently rubbing his back as usual and it went a little like this...

Zach: "I got it!! I got it!!" 
Mommy: Hmmm... I'm thinking.  Does he "got" the song?  Does he not like the song?
Zach: "If only I jumped a little higher I would have caught the ball."
Mommy: "That's ok, buddy.  You'll jump higher next time and catch it."
Zach: "Yep, Mommy."

Puzzle Master Junior

Our Puzzle Master Junior finally convinced me to pull out a 1000 piece puzzle. He is really excited!!

Zach's Pre-K Graduation

My how the time flies!!  The years have sped by from welcoming home our little boy to celebrating Zach's Pre-Kindergarten graduation.  The kids had fun preparing for graduation by tie-dying their own shirts and learning a song and dance to perform for all of the parents.

 

 

Zach's going to "BIG SCHOOL" in August and we welcome the next adventures that life will bring for our little man!!  Way to go, Zach!!

Spring Soccer 2012

We had a great group of boys that chalked up an undefeated season, followed by their first 3-game tournament. We didn't pull out any wins in the tournament, but the boys played hard and seemed to enjoy themselves. What a great soccer season!!

Spring Showoff

Lainey had her first dance recital (aka showoff) yesterday evening. She did fantastic!!

Ok, so she didn't dance at a dance recital, but she (mostly) stayed on the stage and (mostly) didn't cry!!

I think her private cheering section kept her going with Zach and Cooper in the front row (mostly) chanting "way to go, Lainey, way to go."

Daddy and I were so proud of our star of the show!!
