Beautiful Bulldog

Alaina has begged to do what Zach does... play T-ball.  Lainey plays for the Bulldogs and is absolutely adorable on the field!!

The first practice and game DID NOT GO WELL...

but then Daddy, The Lainey Whisperer, showed up and she's been all smiles since!!

Collarbone Calamity

A parent's words could never ring more true... "it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt." Unfortunately, Zach was the someone to get hurt.

Zach was wrestling with a friend last night and ended up with a broken collarbone.

He has been a great trooper today, in high spirits and refusing naps (despite the codeine!!). We hope that the next 6 weeks pass quickly and easily!!

Get better soon, bud. We love you!!

Best Buddies

Smart Little Cookie

Lainey received her first Happy Gram! from Mrs. Kathy in Preschool 2 today.  Our smart, little cookie!!

"We are very happy to have Alaina in Preschool 2.  She loves the math center.  She can recognize one to five objects in a set without counting.  She can also recognize written numerals 1-5."

I Got It!!

Zach needed a gentle wake-up call this morning for school.  I haven't needed to wake him up every morning for school, but when I do I sing, "Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory..."

This morning, I started singing and gently rubbing his back as usual and it went a little like this...

Zach: "I got it!! I got it!!" 
Mommy: Hmmm... I'm thinking.  Does he "got" the song?  Does he not like the song?
Zach: "If only I jumped a little higher I would have caught the ball."
Mommy: "That's ok, buddy.  You'll jump higher next time and catch it."
Zach: "Yep, Mommy."

Oh, the sweet dreams of little boys!!
