Three Weekends of Baseball

Spring baseball is in full swing and we're spending almost every weekend at the ball field.  I could complain about it... but I honestly love it!!

MAVS BALLPARK
Lucky for us we were scheduled to play on a turf field during a raining Saturday.  We had much better playing conditions than most in town, and the boys enjoyed the slip-n-slide aspects of wet turf.  We haven't had the best record so far this season, so going 5-0 for the weekend was a great confidence boost.  Rattlers for the win!!

OKLAHOMA-TEXAS SHOOTOUT
Ardmore is closer than Gulf Shores for our out-of-state tourney this year.  Boys played well, going 3-0 in pool play before making an early exit on Sunday morning.  I think the boys will remember swimming in the hotel pool and pick-up football with the other teams more than the tournament results.

It stinks to lose the first game on Sunday, but it's great when your best friend is at the same tournament.

TEXAS RANGERS YOUTH BALLPARK
A beautiful venue for playing and watching baseball.  We made it to the championship game to battle it out against the Texas Owls, the same team we met 2 weeks prior at the Mavs Ballpark.  It was another close game with us coming just short in an epic 3-hour, 9 inning game, losing 19-18.  This is a game the boys will never forget!!

P!nk

I surprised Lainey last week with tickets to the P!nk concert.  It was crowded!  It was loud!  It was late!  And it was AWESOME!!
My beautiful dinner date before she knows where we're going.  I only said we were doing a girls night out in Downtown.

And we're here!!

Savage Cabbage

Lainey's art was displayed in the LISD Elementary Art Show for a 2nd straight year - she was 1 of only 43 students from GRE whose art was selected.  Way to go, Lainey!!

Proud Artist with her Masterpiece, Savage Cabbage

I love this girl and her constant imagination and creativity!!

Pinkalicious and Zack

Today is book character day at school.  Both kiddos excitedly headed out as Pinkalicious and Zack.  Happy reading!!

Middle School Madness

Oh my gosh! Zach hasn't started middle school yet and I'm already busy getting everything organized.  Our class requests are submitted and our instrument is selected.

WHAT?  Instrument, you say?
YES!!

Students must take a fine arts class in 6th grade, athletics start in 7th.  Zach came home after his middle school field trip and announced that he was going to play the drums in band.  Alrighty then... Good mom that I am, I hurried to schedule our instrument selection appointment (who knew those existed?!) before all the "good" instruments were chosen.  Almost an hour and a half later, Zach will not be playing the drums... and instead chose the trombone.  Goodness gracious - how will he lug this thing back and forth on his bike everyday?!

Pushing my worries aside... if he's happy, I'm happy.

Ok, ok... Me Again... Finally

OK, so I'm back again briefly for just a few updates.  Not having the ability to blog with my phone has REALLY hindered my post frequency (obviously!!).  Here's a quick two for you to enjoy!!
