Between Plates and Portraits

We receive a new company calendar each year. This year our calendar talks about telones, large posters that act as backdrops for souvenir photos, and our office will have a different telón in the office each month.

Here is an exerpt from the calendar to (hopefully) explain the photo below.

"In every town plaza, a humble photographer asks travelers to step in front of this painted backdrop known in Spanish as a telón. These beautifully painted telones capture the likeness and essence of the city or a famous festival. By taking a picture in front of the backdrop, the tourist has a souvenir to treasure for a lifetime. So, come and take a picture…"

Not wanting to buck tradition, I convinced Margarita and Bailey to join me in the photo op!!
